if you have anchovies in solidified olive oil, and double boil them, the
bodies loose rigidity and become paste.

The penguins would have a hard time with anchovy paste, plus I would think the fish scales might gum things up. I know a thing or two about the tenacity of anchovy scales.

We stopped feeding the penguins anchovies years ago but not because they don't like the way they taste. Now they eat capelin and herrings.
